“It was the right decision to move here,” he says.
Sanoussi used to own Atlas Pizza in Weymouth, named after the mountains in his native Morocco. Wanting a good place to move to with his wife, Heidi, and his 5-year-old son, Zachary, he was turned on to Milton by its top-10 ranking in Money magazine’s best town’s issue as well as its school system. A speaker of Arabic, French and German, Sanoussi hopes his son can get in the French Immersion program.
With the success of MHOP, Sanoussi is now looking for a home in town.
Though MHOP obviously sells a lot of pizza, its eclectic menu features subs, calzones, wraps and a Mediterranean section with gyros, kabob and falafel. The restaurant also offers catering.
Sanoussi moved from Morocco to Germany to study engineering. It was in Munich that he met his wife, who was working for State Street Bank where she is a vice president.
They eventually moved to the States and Sanoussi obtained his citizenship.
While in Germany, Sanoussi opened his first shop, after deciding against an engineering career.
“I like to be around people more than working in an office,” he says.
Sanoussi enjoys the East Milton Square atmosphere, where he says everyone is friendly. It makes for better business, he says, and a place parents can feel safe letting their kids hang out.
